COVE PICTURES is a television production company established by Dame Heather Rabbatts, who has worked with the BBC, Channel 4, Shed Media and Time Warner, and Patrick Milling Smith and Bryan Carmody, the founders of highly successful commercials production company SMUGGLER. Cove Pictures has a co-production partnership with James Bond producers EON Productions and is currently working on a number of titles for TV, for the US, UK and the international market through their alliance.

 

Cove Pictures is a joint venture between Patrick Milling-Smith, Brian Carmody and leading entertainment content creator and distributor Red Arrow Studios. The relationship with Red Arrow Studios enables Cove Pictures to have access to European broadcasters, finance as well as a presence in the US.  Cove Pictures works closely with Carlo Dusi, EVP Commercial Strategy, Scripted at Red Arrow Studios International and the Red Arrow Studios scripted team on all mutual projects. 

 

Between SMUGGLER, EON Productions, Red Arrow Studios and the Cove Pictures team the company has unique relationships with talent as well as a comprehensive range of networks and broadcasters.

DAME HEATHER RABBATTS

Managing Director of Cove Pictures

Dame Heather Rabbatts is a qualified Barrister and has held a number of roles in senior executive positions across government, sport and broadcasting.

Heather’s media career has included being a Governor of the BBC, a Senior Commissioning Executive at Channel 4 and Chairman of Shed Media, one of the foremost production companies in both the UK and US, overseeing their sale to Time Warner. She has developed programmes across all genres from drama and features to documentary and factual entertainment, but her passion is drama.

Her executive media career is combined with notable board positions including Into Film (a film education charity) and the Grosvenor Estate. She has also had previous positions with the Royal Opera House, Independent Non-Executive of the Football Association and Foreign and Commonwealth office.

BRIAN CARMODY

Partner of Cove Pictures

Brian Carmody is an award-winning commercial, theatre, film, immersive media, and television producer and Co-Founder/Managing Partner of Ad Age’s 2017 Production Company of the Year, Smuggler. He is also a partner of Cove Pictures and Co-Founder of virtual reality studio Here Be Dragons.

Recent projects include: eight-time Tony Award- winning musical Once; Emmy Award winning commercial Squarespace (John Malkovich); feature film Greetings From Tim Buckley and the Broadway hit Seminar (Alan Rickman/Jeff Goldblum). Brian’s other awards include a Grammy, multiple Cannes Lions, Grand Prix and Palme d’Ors. His sellout 2017 London stage adaptation of Robert Evans’ memoir The Kid Stays in the Picture (Simon McBurney), heads to Broadway in 2018 and his upcoming film projects include Wild Geese and Becket by William Monahan.

PATRICK MILLING-SMITH

CHARLOTTE CAMPBELL

Head of Development

Charlotte Campbell has developed a range of programmes across multiple genres including drama, factual, digital and animation.

Charlotte joined Cove Pictures as a Development Executive in 2016 and helped to establish the company’s current slate of international drama series and feature films. In 2018 she was promoted to Head of Development and now oversees all drama and feature film projects, working alongside Dame Heather Rabbatts to strategize and pitch the company’s full slate of drama, factual and digital series and narrative and factual feature films.

Previously Charlotte worked for Eon Productions and for a number of other production companies including Hartswood Films, BBC and Films of Record across development and production. She also script edited several projects for Film London, Creative England and NFTS.

Charlotte graduated from the National Film and Television School in 2014 where she produced two award winning short films and an award winning commercial for children’s charity COAP. Her graduation film Room 55 won the Best Cinematography Award at Camerimage in 2014 and was selected for a number of festivals including SXSW, Palm Springs and the BFI London Film Festival.

PAUL HART

Executive Assistant

Paul Hart is a former Local Authority Chief Executive and undertakes the role of Executive Assistant to Heather Rabbatts.
