Cove Pictures is a television production company launched in March 2016. Whilst the company is new, our team have significant TV, Film and Theatre experience.

Cove was established by Dame Heather Rabbatts, Patrick Milling Smith and Brian Carmody. Patrick and Brian are the founders of SMUGGLER, a highly successful commercials production company.

Considered to be a leader in its field they are the producers behind global brands such as Jaguar, Adidas, Nike, BT, American Express and Microsoft. Smuggler’s success is not only linked to Patrick and Brian’s unique creative and business skills but they have also built their company by working with some of the most talented directors from across the media landscape.

It was this connectivity with talent, which ignited Patrick and Brian’s interest in developing ideas in other media spaces. They were co-producers with Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson on the Tony award winning musical “Once” and are now working on their next theatre show which will be staged in London before transferring to Broadway. The creation of Cove Pictures will facilitate their ambition to develop drama/factual shows for the international TV marketplace.

Dame Heather Rabbatts, who has worked with the BBC, Channel 4, Shed Media and Time Warner established the company with Patrick and Brian. Cove has a co-production partnership with James Bond producers EON and is currently working on a number of drama titles for TV, for both the US, UK and the international market. EON have been increasing their creative output in theatre and independent films and are looking to enter the TV space with their alliance with Cove.

Working with Cove is the Red Arrow TV group who have a distribution relationship with the company which enables Cove to have access to the European broadcasters, finance as well as a presence in the US.

Alongside the drama offer is a factual entertainment team led by Paul Sowerbutts , who created “Man v Wild” with Bear Grylls the most successful show on cable in the last five years, was co-producer of BAFTA award-winning “Touching the Void” and the managing director ofChannel 4’s international rights business for a number of years.
